This album was made on the road in the purest sense, perhaps I should say literally but I don’t feel like Kerouac (until the pretty girl made a grave, then perhaps I had to recall his words if not his archetypes). The position I held was one of a rock star firmly entrenched in a little prick crown chakra mentality with a busy heart and solar plexus that kept me dreaming in waking life, sleeping less, moving fast and relentlessly and a good dose of universal luck that answered my prayers and ensured an elastic continuum who’s role was unprecedented and became insanity. The characterisation of Adonis and the Blues man was delusionary and lead to my dictionary but I did plant Aphrodite seeds as I slept in a rainbow hammock on the veranda of the house of happiness and kept as base at Ernest studio where I strummed an acoustic between laptop sessions of enduring value for 24 hour stretches. I was the Histrionic wayfarer of Bosch’s appropriation and painted my way into Rainbow Serpent festival a year early and showed beside David Grey, giving my credentials of painting a few footnotes of curriculum vitality.
The music itself is derivative and magically referential to many songs that you can feel if you are well versed but I have to discover them later as I hardly brought up references when I had full access to the Internet, for some reason… The dream or mission statement was to create a tangential Prog Rock album using Psytrance and Hip-Hop as the foundation as opposed to Electronica and Rock. This has been realised in the arrangement and variety certainly but the actual Dark Side contender has eluded us here… It’s just too long and the Psytrance rolling bass-lines aren’t done well enough to give them power. However, there’s a great amount of unlistenable rap lyrics that I’m proud of and should explain the state of affairs as I journeyed ever onwards to the Swedish shore and the magnificent moments demand favouritism even if they are densely surrounded by genre occlusions. I recommend the album in its entirety like any musician but also have a complete collection of modern music here so there’s a time and place for portions of the map as your journey transpires.
